Ok, day 2! Before we dive into the afternoon action of the finals and semifinals – I know I said I won’t write about the morning sessions, but I just can’t ignore what Katie Ledecky did. This girl is phenomenal and this morning she broke her own WR in the 1,500m (15:27.71). I guess she was really upset that she missed the WR in the 400m yesterday, and decided to take it out on the morning heats. Boy was that extraordinary! Her time at the 800m mark – 8:15.29, is merely 4 seconds off the WR in the 800m!!! @#%#$%@#%#$% And it’s a time that probably can win the 800m here, if Katie of the 800m won’t participate. WOW. Swimming World Championships 2015 – Day 1

Well, the Swimming World Championships is finally under way! Such medals! Much excitement! I will cover the Championships in the blog, but I will only write about the evening sessions, without the morning heats. I watch them, since they can be really interesting sometimes, and many Israeli swimmers take part in the heats, but I don’t want to write posts that are 4,000 words long. I’m not Bill Simmons (sadly 😦 ). When the Championship ends, I will write some additional posts about swimmers and their medals and how the historical all-time medals rankings changed (and they will go through some changes, I guarantee you that). I reached a conclusion this other day, when I saw Kim Collins compete in one of this year’s Diamond League events. Let’s return for a while to posts about the NBA, before we get the Swimming World Championships in Kazan next week. Yes, I know it’s the Aquatics World Championships, thank you very much. However, I don’t really care about water polo and synchronized swimming. Swimming is life. Some Playoff Stats

Ok, so we’re actually nearing the end of this year’s playoffs. Cleveland and Golden State qualified to the finals, and will battle for the title. It’s not really surprising, but still – good job Cavs and Warriors! I’m really torn between those two teams, but I think that the Warriors are a real “Destiny Team” this season. They are destined to win, all the stars are aligning themselves for them. They are playing the best and the most eye-pleasing basketball. They finished with a truly historic record of 67-15. They have the MVP, the most delighting player in the league – Steph Curry. And so far they looked incredible in the playoffs. Let’s say that if you’re saying that they don’t win it’s like some saying that Blanka Vlasic won’t win the 2008 Olympic title. Oh, wait…

Let’s take a short break from the NBA playoffs to talk a bit about football. We just had the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, and as I watched them a question popped into my mind – who is the greatest Brazilian scorer in the history of the Champions League? Perhaps you would like to venture a guess too? Go on, it’s free. Think about the Brazilian player who you think scored the most goals in the history of this competition (European Cup included). Yes, it’s been too long since my last post. The thing is that I’ve been busy with a talk I had to give at the seminar for PhD students at TAU, and since I have a tendency to really put myself into every work I do at the univesity it really took a lot of me and of my resources. The talk was about my research and it was the first time I presented it (I really hate doing it and this is why I always go to conferences as a listener only – I never presented a poster or gave a talk).
